"Acute HCV: Therapeutic strategies in the era of DAAs."

Lunch will be served at 12.30pm. Please RSVP to rjoseph@kirby.unsw.edu.au for attendance and catering purpose.

Abstract: The management of recent HCV infection is not standardised with significant uncertainty regarding the optimal regimen and treatment duration, particularly as the therapeutic landscape changes with the advent of directly-acting antiviral (DAA) therapy.  As DAAs become established in the management of chronic HCV, their role and activity in acute and early chronic infection requires evaluation.  This seminar will discuss past, present and future therapuetic directions in recent HCV, focussing on the ATAHC I/II and DARE C I/II trials.

Biography: After completing advanced training in infectious diseases, Marianne commenced her PhD with the Viral Hepatitis Clinical Research Program at the Kirby Institute in 2014. She continues to work as the Viral Hepatitis Fellow at St Vincent's Hospital.
