Clinical Trials are important research tools to advance the evidence in infectious diseases. The SToP (See, Treat, Prevent skin sores and Scabies) and SNAP (Staphylococcus Aureus Network Adaptive Platform) Trial are two examples of how to embrace populations that are often excluded from research, including children, pregnant participants and First Nations populations.

Team Leader, Healthy Skin and ARF Prevention Team, The Kids Research Institute; Paediatric Infection Diseases Specialist, Perth Children's Hospital Asha Bowen is a senior clinician-scientist in Paediatric Infectious Diseases, working across Perth Children's Hospital and The Kids Research Institute. She is the lead investigator of SToP Trial and global paediatric lead of the SNAP Trial. Her research focuses on translation of results into clinical practice ranging from bush to bench to bedside and beyond. |
