Nila Dharan is an Infectious Diseases physician with clinical research experience in the areas of HIV, influenza and tuberculosis. Her current research is focused on improving our understanding of the burden and pathophysiology of comorbidities in ageing people with HIV.

Abstract

In many settings, people with HIV (PHIV) are ageing and their care has become focused on managing long-term HIV infection. This research aimed to evaluate comorbidities in Australian PHIV and improve our understanding of the role that HIV treatment and other pathophysiologic mechanisms play in ageing with HIV.
