The Biobehavioural Prevention Research Group within the HIV Epidemiology and Prevention Program undertakes research at the intersection of biomedical and behavioural approaches to preventing HIV transmission among gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men and transgender women in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. With a focus on equitable access to prevention, our projects concentrate on behavioural surveillance, increasing uptake and continuation of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), HIV treatment as prevention, HIV and STI testing, implementation science, and determining risk factors for HIV in the context of rapidly changing local and regional epidemics.
