Shanchita is a Research Associate working with the Infection Analytics Program at the Kirby Institute. She began her academic career as a lecturer at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Post-PhD, she worked at the Queensland University of Technology as a researcher for a number of years.
After graduating in Microbiology from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, Shanchita earned an MSc from the University of New England and a PhD from Queensland University of Technology in 2017. Her PhD study examined the effect of sun exposure on vitamin D levels in a randomised controlled trial setting.
She has extensive experience in evidence synthesis, systematic reviews, meta-analysis, quantitative and qualitative research in epidemiology and public health. Her research interests include infectious and non-communicable diseases, vitamin D, and digital health.
