Bio: In 2013 Melanie commenced her PhD with Rowena Bull, Fabio Luciani and Andrew Lloyd where her researched focussed on understanding transmitted founder (T/F) virus phenotypic traits and neutralising antibody responses to TF viruses. In 2018, she moved to Copenhagen, Denmark for a postdoctoral position at the Centre for Medical Parasitology, University of Copenhagen. Here, her worked focussed on characterising the humoral immune response and monoclonal antibodies to malaria merozoite antigens and SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. Melanie moved back to Sydney in 2023 to join the VISP group as a postdoc. Her current project involves working with panels of HCV envelope antigens that will help guide the development of broadly neutralising antibodies.
