Lauren is a registered nurse with a Master in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She has significant experience in strategy, project and operational management of health programs, in rural and remote complex settings, both internationally and in Australia. After working for 15 years with Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) leading a variety of emergency and longer term responses in Africa, the Middle East and SE Asia, Lauren returned to Australia and worked in remote areas, including as a health service manager with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Broken Hill. Prior to joining the Kirby Institute, Lauren worked with the Victorian Department of health as a senior operations manager with the COVID-19 case, contact and outbreak management division.
