Abstract

Four major hepatitis C (HCV) studies were presented by Kirby Institute academics at the International Liver Congress in Vienna, April 2019:

  1. SMART-C, a randomised controlled trial of simplified versus standard DAA treatment monitoring;
  2. TARGET3D+, a single-arm trial of short-course (6 week) therapy for acute/recent HCV infection;
  3. ETHOS ENGAGE, an observational study of HCV care cascade and elimination among people who inject drugs; and
  4. A systematic review and meta-analysis of HCV reinfection.
