Professor Stephen Kent
Head of Kent Laboratory, Doherty Institute and University of Melbourne

Professor Stephen Kent trained as an infectious diseases physician and vaccine immunologist in Melbourne and Seattle. He oversees a talented group of scientists at the Doherty Institute who pivoted to help with COVID-19 research in 2020. Their work encompasses natural immunity, vaccine-induced immunity, and antibody therapies. Their COVID research involves collaborations with Associate Professor Stuart Turville, Professor Anthony Kelleher, Professor Gail Matthews, Professor Miles Davenport and their teams at the Kirby Institute.

Abstract

Control of SARS-CoV-2 requires a concentrated effort to understand immunity and develop improved treatments and vaccines. Professor Kent will discuss latest advances from his group on COVID immunity, treatments and vaccines.
