Abstract
Vaccines against COVID-19 are probably one of the most valuable categories of vaccines ever developed. However, vaccine supply and financial constraints have forced national, regional and global decision makers into hard decisions about the best way to use these vaccines. This talk describes some of the work to assess their health impact and economic value, focusing on the economics of health care. There will be some overlap with a presentation Mark recently gave at the Kirby.

Professor Mark Jit Mark Jit is professor of vaccine epidemiology and head of the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), as well as visiting professor at the School of Public Health, University of Hong Kong. His research group focuses on epidemiological and economic modelling of vaccines to support evidence-based public health decision making. |
