Kirby Institute Seminar Series presents

Ms Vera Klemm

Ms Vera Klemm
PhD Student, Immunovirology and Pathogenesis Program, Kirby Institute

Vera Klemm is a PhD student in her final months at the Kirby Institute (Immunovirology and Pathogenesis Program). Originally from Germany, where she received her M.Sc. in Infection Biology, she relocated to Sydney to focus her research on the delivery of epigenetic silencing siRNAs for an HIV-1 functional cure approach.

Abstract

‘Block and Lock’ as a functional HIV-1 cure approach utilises siRNAs to force HIV-1 into a latent state. Join us for a presentation about a PhD journey, which highlights the differences between in vitro and in vivo success of lentiviral shRNA delivery.
