PhD Student, Biostatistics and Databases Program, Kirby Institute Rimke Bijker is a PhD student at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney. In her thesis, she assesses the current and future program needs for the joint management of HIV and non-communicable diseases, based on data from the TREAT Asia HIV Observational Database (TAHOD) and the TAHOD Light Intensity TransfEr (TAHOD-LITE) cohorts. |
Abstract
Non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and kidney disease are becoming more apparent in the ageing population of people who are treated with effective antiretroviral therapy. In her talk, Rimke will discuss findings on morbidity, mortality, and monitoring of non-communicable diseases in Asian people living with HIV.
