Ms Lise Lafferty -Research Assistant, Kirby Institute

"Social capital of men in prison living with HCV."

Tuesday 23rd February 2016

Seminar:  1pm-2pm

Abstract:
Lise’s PhD research explores social capital in the prison setting and aims to identify social capital dimensions which may predict HCV treatment among incarcerated men. Social capital is a relatively recent concept encompassing social support, social networks and social cohesion. Social capital can be used to improve the quality of a person and/or community, including improved health and wellbeing. Although social capital has gained attention across a number of disciplines, it has received little focus in the prison setting. The focus of this presentation will be an exploration of social capital in the prison setting.
