The Kirby Institute Postgraduate Student Prize is an annual award given to the most significant first author paper by a Kirby Institute student, published in the previous calendar year in a peer-reviewed journal in the area of infectious diseases.

Abstract

Progress towards elimination of HCV infection among people who inject drugs
Evaluating progress towards hepatitis C (HCV) elimination is critical. We estimated prevalence of current HCV infection and HCV treatment uptake among people who inject drugs in Australia. The factors associated with current HCV infection and treatment uptake were analysed among an observational cohort of people who inject drugs, attending a national network of drug treatment clinics and needle and syringe programs.
