Kirby Institute Seminar Series presents
![]() |
Dr Katharine Bar Katharine Bar is a physician-scientist and clinical trialist who studies the transmission, pathogenesis, and persistence of HIV-1 and other viral pathogens. She currently has two central interests, (i) the viral dynamics and host immune responses during treatment interruption and (ii) developing NHP models that faithfully recapitulate HIV-1 pathogenesis and latency. |
Abstract
Dr Bar will discuss recent findings from her work characterising the viral and immune dynamics of rebound from treatment interruption in human clinical trials and non-human primate models of HIV persistence.
