Dr Fadi Meroueh
Head of the Health Unit, Villeneuve-les-Maguelone Prison, France
Dr Fadi Meroueh is Head of the Health Unit of the Villeneuve-les-Maguelone prison, part of Montpellier University Hospital. He is currently president of Health Without Barriers, The European Federation for Prison Health. With more than 22 years of experience working in the prison setting, Dr. Meroueh has extensive expertise in delivering hepatitis C treatment and harm reduction services, including a needle exchange program, to people in custodial settings.

Abstract
Dr Meroueh will present on how the Villeneuve-les-Maguelone prison incorporates multiple healthcare interventions – e.g. bloodborne virus testing, opiate agonist treatment, hepatitis C and HIV treatment, and needle exchange services – to improve health and human rights for persons in custody.
