Dr Behzad Hajarizadeh Behzad Hajarizadeh is a clinical epidemiologist, and a Senior Lecturer at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney. He trained as a Medical Practitioner and has an MPH and PhD in Medicine. His research interests include viral hepatitis natural history, and clinical care in prison settings and among people who inject drugs. |
Abstract
Treatment-as-prevention incorporates treatment as a tool for limiting spread of an infection in epidemics in a particular setting. The Surveillance and Treatment of Prisoners with hepatitis C (SToP-C) study is the first study globally, providing empirical data of hepatitis C treatment-as-prevention in the prison setting.
