The Kirby Institute Postgraduate Student Prize is an annual award given to the most significant first author paper by a Kirby Institute student, published in the previous calendar year in a peer-reviewed journal in the area of infectious diseases.

Dr Martinello’s paper, ‘Sofosbuvir and Ribavirin for 6 Weeks Is Not Effective Among People with Recent Hepatitis C Virus Infection: The DARE-C II Study’ assessed the efficacy of treatment over a 6-week period in individuals with recent HCV infection, and was published in the Hepatology journal in 2016.

We would like to congratulate Dr Marianne Martinello for receiving this prize, and we look forward to being part of her continued work in this area.
