Bio:
Seiji Okada M.D., Ph.D. is a Professor of Center for AIDS Research, Kumamoto University, Japan. He is a Board Certificated Member of the Japanese Society of Hematology. He established several types of highly immunodeficient mice and mice with human hematopoietic and immune system (humanized mice) for AIDS research. These mice are powerful tool for evaluation of anti-HIV therapy. He is collaborating with Prof. Anthony Kelleher (The Kirby Institute, UNSW) for the gene therapy model of HIV-1. He is a leader of research group of AIDS related malignant lymphoma in Japan supported by Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Japan. His group published the guidance for the treatment and diagnosis of AIDS related lymphoma for and working on clinical study. He also established the mice model of Primary effusion lymphoma and works on novel therapeutics.
