Mr Eamonn Murphy- UNAIDS Country Director, Myanmar

 “The response to HIV and AIDS in Myanmar: a UNAIDS perspective.”

Biography:
Mr Murphy is the UNAIDS Country Director in Myanmar. He leads and facilitates a joint UN response to support the national response to HIV.  This includes strengthening the links between the UN system, the government, donors, development partners, and civil society.  His previous postings include Viet Nam as UNAIDS Country Director and Switzerland as Director of Governance and Donor Relations.  Prior to joining UNAIDS, from 1988 to 2002, Eamonn held a number of positions including Director for Health with AusAID, and previously Assistant Secretary for Communicable Diseases and  Director of the National AIDS Programme for the Commonwealth health Department with the Australian Government.
